Notre Dame and Brian Kelly lost a star player this week.

In a somewhat unsurprising move, wide receiver Michael Young has announced that he plans on transferring upon graduation in 2020.

After spending three years with the Fighting Irish, Young will look to move on somewhere where he is able to earn more reps in his final season of eligibility.

Coming out of high school Young was rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 19 prospect out of the state of Louisiana.

As a freshman he posted four receptions for 18 yards in four games.

One year later, as a sophomore. He had seven receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown in seven outings. His lone score came versus Louisiana.

This season he has recorded six receptions for 21 yards in three games.

Young reportedly received scholarship offers from more than a dozen schools, so he presumably should not have any major difficulties finding another landing spot after his time in South Bend ends.

  1. Notre Dame requires a Hall of Fame Head Coach (Deion Sanders, Bruce Smith, Shannon Sharpe) to attract 5 stars players capable of beating Alabama and other bona fide elite teams. Kelly is incapable of attracting 5 stars players, because of his unprofessionalism on and off camera with urban players. Notre Dame was once America’s team featuring 1988 Lou Holtz Champions and 1977 and 1973 Ross Browner Champions. High School 5 stars players will NOT go near Kelly. Therefore, Notre Dame is NOT a top 10 team with Kelly insulting urban players.
