Patriots Owner Gets Brutally Honest About Tom Brady
Patriots owner Robert Kraft got brutally honest about Tom Brady this week.
Brady and New England came up short in the opening weekend of the AFC playoffs, ultimately falling to the Tennessee Titans.
Immediately after the defeat questions arose about whether Saturday’s game was Brady’s final one in a Patriots uniform.
For months rumors have run rampant that he would leave New England and move out west to join the Los Angeles Chargers.
Speaking to the media, Kraft made it clear that Brady playing somewhere else was his worst nightmare.
“Anyone who’s done that has earned the right to control his future after 20 years,” he said.
“And you know, my hope and prayer is number one, he play for the Patriots. Or number two, he retires.”
When pressed on his future by reporters, Brady was non-committal.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen,” he said.
“I’m not going to predict it. No one needs to make choices at this point. I love playing football.
“I love playing for this team. I’ve loved playing for this team for two decades and winning a lot of games.
“I don’t know what it looks like moving forward, so we’ll just take it day to day.”
One way or another, a clearer picture of Brady’s future should emerge within the coming months.
