Tom Brady Explains Cryptic Black And White Photo

Tom Brady explained his cryptic black and white photo from this past week.

Earlier this week, Brady published a photo on social media of him walking through a tunnel.

The picture was black and white and did not come with an accompanying caption.

Fans struggled to figure out whether he was walking onto the football field or off, and what it all meant.

Some thought it was a sign he was contemplating retirement, even though he had clearly said he had no plans of doing that.

Others thought it was a signal that he would be leaving the New England Patriots this offseason.

Well, on Super Bowl Sunday, we got our answer.

“The mystery of the ambiguous photo @TomBrady posted last week will be solved today,” tweeted out NFL Network insider Mike Garapolo.

“Sources tell me and @RapSheet it was a teaser for a commercial that will air during #SuperBowlLIV.”

So there was no hidden message behind the image – it was just a teaser for a commercial that would ultimately end up airing on gameday.

This falls in line with what Brady’s teammates Devin and Jason McCourty said this week on Barstool Radio. They recalled what Brady told them about the image.

“Everybody’s overreacting,” they said.

“He’s like, ‘It’s not is he going to stay, is he going to go (and leave the Patriots)?’”

Brady essentially laughed at all the gossip that came as a result of his viral post.

“He was like, ‘Bro, I’m 42 years old, one of the oldest guys in the league, wanted to remind people that the best photos are in black and white,’” the McCourtys continued.

“That’s all it was, bro. Black and white. It’s a classic — like, I’m the classic: Tom Brady, black and white. Put it all together, I’m still out here doing it.”

While the black and white image obviously means nothing, it is still an undeniable fact that Brady faces an interesting offseason.

As an unrestricted free agent, he can sign with any team he wants.

To date he has been linked to the Los Angeles Chargers, Indianapolis Colts, Las Vegas Raiders, Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins.

Plus, there is obviously the chance that he simply opts to stay in New England.

Where will Brady ultimately go? Time will tell.
