Patriots Reveal Their Offer To Tom Brady
The Patriots revealed their offer to Tom Brady this week.
Heading into the offseason, the biggest question of the summer is where Tom Brady will play in 2020-21.
Brady is set to become an unrestricted free agent, and there is nothing New England can do to stop him.
That means if Brady returns to the organization that drafted him, it will be on his own terms.
On Sunday, NFL insider Ian Rapoport revealed at length the deal that the Patriots are prepared to make their franchise superstar.
New England is reportedly set to offer Brady $30 million annually.
“The Patriots are intent on keeping Brady, obviously, believing he has one or two good years left,” Rapoport wrote.
“They are willing, sources say, to pay him in excess of $30 million per year to keep him in New England — a significant commitment that would bring his salary more in line with other elite QBs.
Currently, the highest paid passers in the NFL make something in the $35 million per year range.
If New England really did pay that amount to Brady, that would put him on par with the likes of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Ben Roethlisberger, Philadelphia Eagles star Carson Wentz and a select few others.
Of course, money is not all that Brady is chasing.
“That would help, but it may not be all,” Rapoport continued.
“If Brady is going to return, he wants to see the team spend on some weapons — which they attempted to do last offseason by signing Antonio Brown, only to have it fail.
“It would be unlike Bill Belichick to ‘go for it’ but that may close the deal.”
Thus far, Brady has given zero indication that he wants to return to New England.
The other teams rumored to be contenders for his services are the Las Vegas Raiders, Miami Dolphins, Los Angles Chargers, Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts.
