Bailey Zappe’s Blunt Reaction To Patriots Trading Mac Jones
The New England Patriots traded former first round pick Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars this weekend.
“Trade: Patriots are finalizing a deal to send QB Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars, sources tell ESPN. The trade cannot be processed until the new league year begins Wednesday and he passes a physical,” Adam Schefter reported on Sunday.
“The two sides were discussing a 6th-round pick, per sources. Jones was born in Jacksonville; now he has the chance to go home.”
Jones’ issues in New England have been a matter of public record. He made far more headlines for his girlfriend’s provocative outfits than any substantive on-the-field accomplishments during his time there.
That said, this move still comes as a bit of a surprise. Especially if all the Patriots could get for him was a sixth round pick.
Backup quarterback Bailey Zappe had a blunt take to Jones getting dealt:

Zappe is obviously no stranger to landing in the news either. Though in his case it has mostly been for his girlfriend’s racy outfits to his Patriots games.
Fans had some strong takes to Zappe liking that post about Jones getting traded:
Get Zappe out of here. Can’t have a toxic backup. Especially when they don’t bring much to the table

Zappe is such a super confident guy. If you thought you were the guy, wouldn’t be happy your competition is gone

The Patriots have been a mess for more than two years now.
It isn’t surprising that they are cleaning house.

The question at this point is how they fix things.
Will 2024 mark the year the Patriots finally get back on track? Time will tell.
