49ers Coach Has Surprising Words For Vikings Quarterback
49ers Coach Kyle Shanahan had surprising words for Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins this week.
A lot of people have been dismissive of Cousins and his inability to perform in big games.
Shanahan isn’t buying that, though.
The Niners coach pointed to Cousins’ performance against the New Orleans Saints last week as an example of just how solid he can be.
Cousins recorded 242 yards and a touchdown on 19-of-31 passing this past week.
49ers coach Kyle Shanahan on criticism that #Vikings QB Kirk Cousins gets: “I just laugh at it. I think Kirk’s won plenty of big games. I just watch how people look on tape and I go with how good they look, not what their record is on Monday night.’’

“I just laugh at it,” Shanahan said.
“I think Kirk’s won plenty of big games.I just watch how people look on tape and I go with how good they look, not what their record is on Monday night.”
Shanahan and Cousins worked together when the former served as an offensive coordinator for the Washington Redskins.
It remains to be seen if Cousins will be able to perform against a ferocious Niners defense, but it is clear that Shanahan will not be taking him lightly either way.
The San Francisco and Minnesota will square off this Saturday from Levi’s Stadium.
