Vikings Reveal Latest Dalvin Cook Injury Update
The Vikings reveal the latest Dalvin Cook injury update in a new statement.
Minnesota appears to be trending in the right decision as of late.
Unfortunately, the health of their star running back is not.
Cook, 24, went down with a shoulder injury in the second half of last week’s outing versus the LA Chargers.
The former Florida State star has been absolutely instrumental to Minnesota’s offense whenever he has played.
Thus far he is seventh in the NFL this year with 1,135 rushing yards and is tied for third place with 13 rushing scores. Beyond that, he has also recorded 53 receptions for 513 yards.
After the offense got off to something of a slow start this year, Cook helped turn the Vikings into arguably the most dangerous play action in football.
Kirk Cousins and Stefon Diggs are both better players when Cook is there.
Unfortunately, he will not be there for the rest of the regular season.
According to Courtney Cronin, Minnesota will likely shut Cook down until the postseason.
“The Vikings are even leaning toward shutting down Cook for the last two regular-season games, hoping to have him ready for the playoffs,” she reported.
“The Vikings can clinch a playoff berth with a victory Monday. Minnesota (10-4) trails Green Bay (11-3) by a game in the NFC North, but the Packers hold the tiebreaker.”
The timing of this injury is also a bit rough.
Minnesota is set to take on their divisional rivals, the Green Bay Packers, this coming Monday. A victory would ensure a playoff spot.
Will the Vikings be able to close the year out strong without Cook? Time will tell.
