Texans Issue Surprising JJ Watt Injury Update
The Texans issued a surprising JJ Watt injury update this week.
Watt, 30, has not played in two months as a result of a torn pectoral muscle. When he is active, the three-time Defensive Player of the Year is arguably the most ferocious player at his position in the league.
Unfortunately, Watt has developed a reputation over the years of being pretty injury prone.
Houston currently finds itself in the race for the AFC South crown. Any additional support or boost the team could get would go a long way in establishing control of the division.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Texans will likely get Watt back at some point in the next week or two.
The specific return from the Oct. 27 injury will be dependent on whether Houston can clinch a playoff berth without him.
“He is in fact expected to be back at practice for the Texans,” Rapoport said.

“If the playoffs are still in doubt, expect him back Week 17. If they clinch a spot in the playoffs, then the likely time that he’s back at practice is the first week of the playoffs.
Without Watt, the Houston defense is allowing 23.6 points per game. Needless to say, his presence has been sorely missed.
