Seahawks Make Sad Injury Update Before Packers Game

The Seahawks made a sad injury update before the Packers game.

Seattle has been ravaged by injuries all season long. That is why the team had to dust Marshawn Lynch off and suit him back up at running back despite him essentially having retired in 2018.

Well, it appears the injury issues are not going away in the lead-up to this weekend’s divisional round game in Green Bay.

The team announced on Friday that left tackle Duane Brown was going to be a game time decision on Sunday.

Brown had missed the prior three outings with a knee injury, but was optimistic about returning.

Making matters worse is the fact that Brown’s replacement, George Fant, is also dinged up. He too will be game time decision as a result of a groin injury.

That is not the only issue with Seattle’s offensive line.

Mike Iuapti, the team’s left guard, is listed as doubtful due to a neck injury that prevented him from playing against the Philadelphia Eagles last weekend. Jamarco Jones will get the nod in his place, presuming he cannot suit up.

Green Bay boasts one of the best pass-rushing attacks in all of football. Russell Wilson, contrary to popular belief, has not been great against pressure this past season. All of that combined with an injured offensive line could spell disaster for the Seahawks.

Fortunately, Pete Carroll did get some good medical news this week on the defensive side of the ball.

Defensive end Quinton Jefferson has been battling an ankle injury, but he participated in practice on a limited basis this week. He is expected to play Sunday, barring a setback.

Safety Marquise Blair, whose status was also up in the air due an ankle injury, will also likely suit up against the Packers.
