Chiefs Issue Sad Injury Update For Texans Game

The Chiefs issued a sad injury update for the Texans game.

Lineman Chris Jones will be inactive in Kansas City’s showdown against the Houston Texans on Sunday.

Not having Jones, one of the Chiefs’ best defensive players, will be a significant loss for the home team.

Jones hurt his calf a while back and did not practice after already having been limited on Thursday.

The hope was that he would be able to go, but pregame tests showed that this was not possible.

According to James Palmer of the NFL Network, Kansas City’s medical staff made a game time decision that Jones simply was not fit to play.

Jones led the Chiefs in sacks this year, much as he did last season. He recorded nine sacks in 2019 after previously recording a career high 15.5 sacks in 2018.

The Chiefs will also be without rookie safety Juan Thornhill, who tore his ACL in Week 17.
