This past week, many in the sports community spoke out after a grand jury decided not to indict any police officers for shooting and killing Breonna Taylor.
Police shot Taylor while serving a warrant for her ex-boyfriend, who was not in the apartment at the time. Her current boyfriend, upon hearing someone breaking into the apartment, fired shots at the police. They returned fire and killed Taylor in the process.
One player whose comments on the subject went viral was New England Patriots star Cam Newton. Needless to say, Patriots fans had strong reactions to his statements.
Washington Football Team fans had similarly intense reactions to their team’s shirts.
But but the drug dealer boyfriend shot first. Her death was just a tragic accident and the result of her own friend’s actions.

Yes, she should have made better choices than to continue spending her time with other criminals. Good message to ALL parents to teach their children right from wrong, so they don’t place themselves in similar positions.

It will be interesting to see what other teams decide to do this weekend. Washington will undoubtedly not be the only team that does something of this nature on Sunday.
