Patriots Cheating Scandal Takes Odd Turn
The Patriots cheating scandal took an odd turn this week.
As New England geared up to play its first AFC Wild Card Game in a decade, news broke that the NFL was almost done investigating the team’s latest cheating scandal.
The Patriots were accused of having a documentary team at the Cincinnati Bengals facilities, where the production team could record coaching signals.
New England has consistently maintained that there was no intent to break any rules. That said, given the organization’s history, some don’t believe that.
Patriots are expected to be disciplined for acknowledged gameday video violations in Cincinnati, per league sources. Discipline likely to come in the next two weeks, but not all security reports back to NFL yet.

According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Patriots will be disciplined for this incident at some point in the next couple of weeks.
While no official punishment has been announced as of yet, the expectation is that it will be something akin to what ex-Cleveland Browns general manger got. He was suspended for four gams and the team was fined $250,000.
