Packers Fans Livid Over McCarthy’s Quote At Cowboys Event
Packers fans were livid over Mike McCarthy’s quote at a Cowboys event on Wednesday.
Days after news leaked out that Dallas was replacing Jason Garrett with McCarthy, the team finally held its official press conference.
While appearing with Jerry Jones in front of the media, McCarthy made a comment that really ticked off his old fan base.
Speaking to the press, McCarthy gushed over his new role with the Cowboys and called his new organization the “most iconic franchise in all of sports.” He then added that “it doesn’t get any better” than his current coaching situation.
Many in Green Bay really internalized those comments.

Regardless of what was said Wednesday, it is clear McCarthy has a lot of fondness for his time with the Packers. Overall he went 125-77 with the organization, made it to the playoffs eight times and won a Super Bowl.
Things may have ended on something of a sour note, but McCarthy did more than enough to endear himself to the fans of Green Bay.
Besides, Packers fans have more important things to worry about – like this weekend’s looming NFC Divisional Round showdown with the Seattle Seahawks.
