New Video Proves Miami Dolphins Cheated To Beat Chicago Bears
The Miami Dolphins earned a 35-32 victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday, but the win didn’t come without controversy.
With just over a minute and a half remaining in the outing and Chicago down three, quarterback Justin Fields looked for newly-acquired wide receiver Chase Claypool on 3rd-and-10.
Unfortunately, there was no way for Claypool to make a legitimate play on the ball.
Why? Well, the video speaks for itself:
Here’s the no-call — on what should’ve been pass interference — on the Justin Fields deep ball to Chase Claypool.
A PI call would’ve given the Bears the ball inside the Dolphins’ 25-yard line with 1:29 remaining. Miami won 35-32. 🏈 pic.twitter.com/yqVHhagU6G

Yikes. Had that been called properly, Fields and the Bears would have gotten the ball just outside the red zone.
And given how Fields had been carving Miami’s defense up all day, it doesn’t take much imagination to figure out what would have happened from there.
What makes this whole thing even more egregious is that the Bears were repeatedly getting cheated by the officials on Sunday. This insane call also played no small role in the eventual outcome of the game:
#Bears safety Eddie Jackson on this pass interference penalty: “He said he didn’t see me playing the ball. I mean, I didn’t look at the receiver one time, so I don’t know what he was seeing.” pic.twitter.com/Ddj9mBZ8XM

Fans were understandably livid at the refereeing ineptness that was on display.
They flocked to social media to express their outrage:
Trent Green: That’s gotta be pass interference.

I guess we’re not calling pass interference any more.
Sweet.

Obviously is isn’t an isolated incident. Teams are getting robbed by the refs on a seemingly weekly basis at this juncture.
There was an example of it last week. And the week before that. It is getting to be quite embarrassing.
The NFL really needs to step in here.

You can’t have non-stop bad calls like this occurring every Sunday and not have it do serious damage to the integrity of the game.
Will the league do something about this nonsense before it’s too late?
Time will tell.
