Kay Adams’ Baker Mayfield Video Causes A Stir After Bucs Win

Kay Adams’ Baker Mayfield video caused something of a stir this week after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ most recent win.

Coming into the year, few expected Mayfield to effectively fill the big shoes left behind by Tom Brady. How could he? This is a guy who failed to impress during stints with the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Rams.

Mix that together with Mayfield’s notoriously boisterous personality, and you can see why many expected him to fail.

So far, though – the 28-year-old has really been proving his haters wrong.

One month into the new season Mayfield is rapidly approaching 1000 passing yards. In addition, he has completed 87 passes and has been picked off just twice all year. As a result of his strong play the Bucs are 3-1 and sit atop the AFC South.

Adams took to her show this week to point out how good Mayfield has looked thus far. Her video about the Buccaneers star caused a major stir.

Fans had mixed reactions.

Adams going viral in this fashion is unsurprising. Between her handsy encounter with an NFL quarterback, recent Josh Allen video and wild vacation photos, she has been something of a mainstay in the news cycle lately. This is just the latest example of that.

That being said, Adams isn’t the only one who has noticed Mayfield’s strong play as of late. Pat McAfee recently addressed it as well.

“Don’t look now…Baker Mayfield has been a reborn quarterback down there in that Bay of Tampa,” McAfee said.

“Honestly, this team is seemingly going to be the NFC South representatives and Baker Mayfield is about to have a 10-year career as a Tampa Bay Buccaneer. All of the stuff that happened before Tampa, there’s a chance that we’re never even going to talk about it because of what Bakers potentially going to be able to do down here in Tampa.”

Obviously there is a lot of season left to go.

In order for Mayfield’s image rehab to fully be completed he needs to keep winning and preferably lead the Buccaneers to at least one playoff win.

But so far, so good,

If Mayfield keeps playing the way he has, and the Bucs keep winning the way they have, this likely won’t be the last time Adams and the rest of the national sports media talk about them so glowingly in 2023.
