Drew Brees’ Wife Brittany Makes Surprising Revelation
Drew Brees’ wife, Brittany, took to social media this week to offer a surprising revelation about the New Orleans Saints legend.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Brittany went into great detail regarding the extent of her husband’s unreported injuries throughout the year, and how he persevered despite them.
Drew Brees’ wife Brittany says on IG that Drew played this season with: A torn rotator cuff, a torn fascia in his foot + the 11 broken ribs and collapsed lung.

“After crying for a few days … I am so grateful for this year,” she wrote. “Your 20th in the NFL my love. This has been the hardest year of our lives, yet in some ways one of the best. This year has shaped us and strengthened us. It has shown us what is truly important, and what is not. I am so proud of you and the man you are.
“The fact that you played this entire year with a torn rotator cuff, torn fascia in your foot, … then later 11 broken ribs a collapsed lung … yet did not complain once …makes me think I should not have taken the epidural while giving birth to the kids!
“This is definitely not how I prayed this year would end and to say my heart is broken for you is an understatement but God’s plans are always better. Your children have watched you handle it all with integrity, grace, and the most amazing work ethic. We r so proud of you.”

Although Brees’ rib and lung injuries were a matter of public record, his torn rotator cuff and torn fascia went unreported.
While Brees had a decent 2020 campaign, completing 70.5 percent of his pass attempts for nearly 3,000 yards, 24 touchdowns and just six interceptions, his completion percentage, touchdown rate and average yards per pass attempt all dipped. This prompted many to wonder if he would retire at the end of this season.

Saints head coach, Sean Payton, was asked about Brees’ future status and offered a very telling answer.
If Brees does call it quits, it will be interesting to see who Payton chooses to replace him. When Taysom Hill got the nod earlier this year, there was almost a mutiny within the locker room.
One way or another, Brees should make a final decision regarding his future in the coming weeks.
