The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly offering Dak Prescott $35 million per year.
On Wednesday afternoon, ESPN’s Ed Werder reported that Dallas and Prescott’s representatives had resumed negotiations.
“The Cowboys have resumed contract negotiations with Dak Prescott for the first time since using the exclusive franchise tag on him,” he tweeted.
“A team source said the NFL currently shows a $26.8M charge to the cap for Prescott even though he has not signed the franchise tender.”

The Cowboys previously offered Prescott a deal that would have paid him $33 million annually – which he ultimately refused. He wants his new contract to equal or surpass that of league-leader Russell Wilson, who makes $35 million per year.
If Dallas and Prescott had resumed negotiations, that means the latter is receiving something very close to the number he was looking for.
Last year, Prescott threw for 4,900 yards and 30 touchdowns. He also ranked fourth in total QBR.
Will a deal get done before the beginning of the 2020-21 season? Time will tell.
