Dak Prescott recently talked about how much money he wants from the Cowboys for his next deal.
There has been a lot of talk and speculation regarding Prescott’s future in the last few weeks.
Dallas management has come out and repeatedly said that it wants to re-sign Prescott long term. In fact, Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones recently said that negotiations were “fixing to heat up,” whatever that means.
The problem is, the two parties have not been able to come to terms on an agreement.
At the moment, it is looking very likely that the Cowboys will need to use the franchise tag on Prescott.
If that happens, Prescott will be locked in for a year at something like $27 million or $28 million.

Recently, the Cowboys quarterback spoke with Kimberly Martin of Yahoo! Sports regarding specifically how much he was seeking on his next deal.
“When are we going to see you get paid?” she asked him. “That’s what everybody wants to know.”
Prescott did not seem to know the answer to that.
“I’m wondering the same thing,” he replied. “Y’all know just as much as me. I’ll love when that day comes, but I have confidence in my agency, my agents, my team. I have confidence in the Cowboys. Something will be done.”
Martin then pressed Prescott on whether he is worth $40 million.
“Are you a $40 million quarterback?” she asked.
Prescott fired off his response to that one like he had a bullet loaded in the chamber.
“You tell me,” he said.
“I’m not the one writing the checks,” she fired back.
“I’m not either,” Prescott said.
“If it’s my call to write it…there’s no telling. I mean, let’s be honest.
“But I said before, I trust my agents, I trust the Cowboys, something will get done. We’re not going to sit here and put a number on it, something will happen.”
One way or another, Prescott will remain with Dallas next season. Whether it will be for $27 million or some figure significantly north of that remains to be seen.
