Aaron Rodgers Responds To Cowboys Hiring Mike McCarthy
Aaron Rodgers responded to the Cowboys hiring Mike McCarthy this week.
Rodgers and McCarthy had something of a messy break-up when the Green Bay Packers ultimately decided to relieve the latter of his duties.
Still, the pair enjoyed immense success in the years they spent together. Aside from absolutely dominating the NFC North during that time period, they also won a Super Bowl.
As such, it should come as no surprise that pleasantries are still occasionally exchanged between the men.
On Wednesday, Rodgers was asked how he felt about Dallas hiring McCarthy to be the team’s next head coach.
Aaron Rodgers sent a congratulatory text to Mike McCarthy on getting the Cowboys job and McCarthy responded. Rodgers said there might be some campaigning to get out to California for joint practices during the preseason soon, but he’s happy for his longtime former coach.

He insisted that he was happy for McCarthy, and even noted that he had sent his former coach a congratulatory message.
Regardless of what happened at the end of their relationship, making eight straight playoff appearances obviously unites people at least a little.
With the inevitable McCarthy questions out of the way, Rodgers will now be able to focus on what he has to do this coming weekend.
The Packers will square off against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in their opening game of the NFL playoffs.
