Are the New York Giants hiring Freddie Kitchens?
Just a few weeks after getting fired by the Cleveland Browns, Kitchens may have discovered a new landing spot.
Early this week news came out that New York was hiring New England Patriots special teams coach Joe Judge as the team’s new head coach.
The 38-year-old’s appointment caught a lot of people by surprise, especially since former Baylor coach Matt Rhule was widely seen as the favorite for the position.
Nevertheless, Judge is the man in New York now and he is trying to hit the ground running.

According to ESPN football insider Jordan Raanan, Judge is planning to interview Kitchens for a spot on his staff.
Although a definitive job has not yet been discussed, Kitchens did start his career in Cleveland as a running backs coach for then head coach Hue Jackson. When Jackson and then offensive coordinator Todd Haley were fired, Kitchens was moved up.
Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield showed a lot of improvement in his rookie season under Kitchens, hence him being named the official head coach the following summer. Obviously the good times did not last, though.
Presumably Judge would take that history into account when finding a spot for Kitchens.
Kitchens and Judge are linked through Mississippi State.
Judge is a Mississippi State alum and Kitchens coached tight end and running backs there back in 2004.
It remains to be seen what other names Judge is able to recruit for his coaching staff.
The Giants will need all the help they can get. Last season, the team went 4-12 and finished just ahead of the Washington Redskins for last place in the NFC East.
