Is Myles Garrett returning to the Browns this season?
In the aftermath of a brutal brawl that saw Garrett attacking Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Myles Garrett with a helmet, many assumed he was done for the year.
Surely enough, less than 24 hours after the incident, the league came out and said he was suspended indefinitely.
However, this week the NFL is hearing Garrett’s appeal of punishment, and if it goes well, he could be back with his team quicker than anyone expected.
Source says Myles Garrett appeal argument is precedent-based. Antonio Smith got 2 preseason gms + 1 reg season gm for swinging helmet at Incognito in ’13. Ergo, even six games (remainder of this season) is too long, they argue. And of course, indefinite suspension unacceptable.

According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, Garrett is making the case that based on precedent.
Garrett’s team is citing the two-game suspension Antonio Smith received in 2013 when he swung his helmet at Richie Incognito.
They maintain that even the remainder of the season would be too long a suspension based on what has happened in the past.
Will that excuse ultimately work?

We should find out soon. According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, the league will look to make a decision on the matter sooner rather than later.
