Jim Harbaugh will be the next coach of the New York Jets, if ESPN’s Mike Greenberg has anything to say about it.
Greenberg’s strong stand on Harbaugh comes at a strange time, given the fact that Ohio State just embarrassed the Wolverines for the fifth year in a row.
Still, according to the ESPN Get Up host, people are looking at the situation all wrong.
“Michigan is not, and has not for a very long time, been among the elite football programs in America,” Greenberg said.
“That was true before Harbaugh arrived, it is true today, and it will probably be true long after he leaves.”
Greenberg firmly believes that the Jets should make a big play for the Michigan head coach’s services.
As it stands, New York is currently 4-8 on the year and fresh off a humiliating loss to the previously winless Cincinnati Bengals.
Adam Gase is only one year into his deal, but he has already largely proven himself inept as an NFL head coach. There is no reason to think that things will improve from here.
The #Jets ownership should be in Ann Arbor today BEGGING Jim Harbaugh to come to New York. And they should leave Adam Gase in Cincinnati.

“The Jets ownership should be in Ann Arbor today BEGGING Jim Harbaugh to come to New York,” Greenberg tweeted out.
According to multiple reports, Michigan brass has no plans to fire Harbaugh. That means if the former San Francisco 49ers head coach wants to return to the pro ranks, he will need to make the move himself.
