Eagles Lose Veteran, Get Star Back Ahead Of Big Giants Game
The Eagles lose a veteran, then get a star back ahead of the big Giants game next week.
Coming off Sunday’s enormous victory over the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia now controls its own destiny.
If the Eagles win against New York next weekend, they will be in the playoffs.
Should the Cowboys simply screw up and lose to a Dwayne Haskins-less Washington Redskins team, Philly still locks up a playoff spot.
As such, Eagles brass decided to spend Monday getting all affairs in order.
Eagles are releasing RB Jay Ajayi today, per source. They are getting RB Jordan Howard back this week.

First item: getting rid of veteran running back Jay Ajayi.
Through three games played this season, Ajayi rushed the ball 10 times for a total of 30 yards. Presumably the Seattle Seahawks will make room for Ajayi, given the scarcity of healthy running backs on their roster.
Item two for the Eagles: bringing back running back Jordan Howard.
Howard has been out with a shoulder injury for the past six games, but he seems ready to return now.
So far in 2019 Howard has rushed the ball 119 time for 525 yards. His best game of the year came back in Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers when he rushed the ball 15 times for two scores and 87 yards.
If healthy, Howard will provide Philly with an immediate offensive boost heading into the playoffs.
