Browns Trading Odell Beckham To Green Bay Packers?
Are the Browns trading Odell Beckham to the Green Bay Packers?
It would be a move that makes sense for all sides.
Cleveland gave up a lot to acquire Beckham from the New York Giants. By any objective measure, the deal has not worked out as planned for the organization.
The dream was that Beckham would continue to be the guy he was during his prime, happy years in New York. It was also assumed that Baker Mayfield would build on a reasonably successful rookie campaign.
Obviously neither ended up happening, though.
Beckham was neither healthy nor happy with the Browns. Mayfield regressed significantly, be it because of his personal issues or poor coaching from Freddie Kitchens.
The cumulative effect of the two is the Browns sitting at 6-9 through 15 games and not even sniffing the postseason despite being some people’s preseason dark horse.
A change will need to be made.
Cleveland can say that it will not trade Beckham, but if the right deal presents itself, that stance will change.
Recently, Clutch Points penned an interesting article suggesting a possible swap between the Packers and Browns.
“To acquire Beckham from the Browns, Green Bay could offer Lane Taylor and their 2020 first-round pick,” the article noted.
“Taylor could bolster a Cleveland offensive line in dire need of some help. Before landing on injured reserve in 2019, Taylor started in 45 games from 2016-2018.
“In addition, the Browns would have Taylor under contract through the 2020 season; giving them a chance to possibly find a long-term solution at guard.”
On top of addressing their biggest weakness, the o-line, the Browns could also probably get a first round pick out of the whole thing.
“Besides the veteran guard, the Packers could surrender their first-round selection in next year’s draft,” the article continued.
“Due to having an 11-3 record, Green Bay is currently projected to own the 27th overall pick. Of course, the Packers would have to consume the final four years and $56 million of Beckham’s current contract.
“But it would absolutely be worth taking on the money to form a dynamic receiving duo of Adams and Beckham.”
Will Beckham ultimately land with Green Bay? It is hard to say for certain, but it would certainly make sense for both organizations.

We the packers don’t want a cry baby
No need for Odell who:
We have the ” Leaping Lizard “.
And Jake ” The Giant Snake ” Kumerow.
I think this 2 are Super stars in the making no doubt………
O is not worth the headache he’s bringing. He a spoiled player and needs to grow up.
Jim, you read my mind. Why on God’s green earth would we want that cry baby!!
I agree 100% with all the comments above. He would be a negative influence in the locker room. Spend the money on a wide out that has proven his worth both on and off the field. No more projects!!!
