Aaron Brewer Cashes In With Dolphins: The Center Just Got a Massive Extension

Aaron Brewer just got paid like a top-tier center, and the Miami Dolphins made a smart bet on continuity.

The veteran center agreed to a three-year, $52.5 million extension with the Dolphins. The deal includes $37 million guaranteed and an average annual salary of $17.5 million, making Brewer the third-highest paid center in the NFL. That’s a major commitment to a position the league has been undervaluing for years.

Look, this is a fantastic move by Miami. The Dolphins have been searching for stability up front since the Tua era started. Brewer brought it last season. He played at a Pro Bowl level, anchored the line, and gave Tagovailoa cleaner pockets than the quarterback has seen in years. Paying him to keep doing that is exactly what a smart front office does.

The financial structure is interesting. The $37 million guaranteed gives Brewer real security while also keeping enough flexibility on the back end for Miami if anything goes sideways. Centers do not usually command this kind of money, which tells you how much the Dolphins valued his specific impact.

For Brewer personally, this is the validation a guy works his entire career for. He went undrafted in 2020. He grinded through years on the Titans roster before getting his shot. He took the offer Miami threw at him in 2024, and the gamble worked. Now he is locked in long-term as one of the best paid offensive linemen in the league.

The center position has been quietly getting more valuable for a few years now. Quarterbacks are reading defenses pre-snap more than ever. The center has to recognize coverages, make protection calls, and execute snaps under intense rush pressure. The good ones are worth real money. The great ones are worth what Brewer just got.

For Miami’s overall plan, this deal makes the Tua extension conversation a little easier. The Dolphins know they have a stable center. They have built up the offensive line on the edges. The skill positions are loaded. The defense is talented if it can stay healthy. Now they just need their quarterback to deliver in the playoffs.

The AFC East is still the Bills’ division to lose. Buffalo keeps winning. The Jets are dangerous when healthy. The Patriots are rebuilding. But the Dolphins have positioned themselves to be in the playoff conversation for the foreseeable future, and Brewer’s deal is part of why.

The Dolphins offensive line is finally a strength again. Brewer at center, with capable tackles, gives Miami one of the more underrated O-lines in football. If the run game can take a step forward, this offense is going to be a problem all season.

Smart business by Miami. Smart payday for Brewer. The fit was right, the timing was right, and both sides got what they needed.

Now show us the wins.
