3 Frontrunners Emerge To Sign Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell Beckham Jr. was once upon a time viewed as a potentially all-time great wide receiver. Unfortunately, injuries robbed him of much of his prime.

Last season with the Baltimore Ravens, amid Lamar Jackson having an MVP season, Beckham recorded 565 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Those were his highest numbers since 2019 – which is telling.

Following the conclusion of the Ravens’ 2023-24 NFL campaign, all parties involved decided to go their separate ways.

The question now is where Beckham lands next.

At the moment, three frontrunners for his services have presented themselves.

At the top of the list appear to be the Miami Dolphins.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have also been floated as an option for Beckham.

“I’m intrigued by OBJ,” Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk said this week in relation to Beckham joining Mike Tomlin and Co.

“He’s available. He is not going to get the $15 million he got last year, and he had some moments last year in Baltimore. I think as free agency gets deeper, some of these veteran guys are going to be cheaper to get. You couple that with a draft pick or two. I think you got what you need.”

Finally, don’t sleep on the New Orleans Saints.

“Call me a romantic, but getting Beckham back home would be a natural way for the former LSU star to wind down his NFL career,” Bill Barnwell of ESPN wrote this week.

“The Saints have a need for a second wideout after releasing Michael Thomas. Rashid Shaheed will take more snaps as the team’s designated deep threat and Cedrick Wilson is in town after disappointing over the last two years in Miami, but Beckham would fit in as part of the rotating cast behind third-year star Chris Olave, especially if the price tag is about half of what it was for the Ravens a year ago.”

One way or another, Beckham will definitely be playing somewhere come next season. Where will that somewhere be, though? Time will tell.
