Ravens Issue Unexpected Lamar Jackson Health Update
The Ravens issued an unexpected Lamar Jackson health update on Thursday.
Jackson injured his quad last week in the team’s victory over the Buffalo Bills.
There was a lot of speculation whether he would be able to suit up for an early-week game against the New York Jets, but apparently he will.
“I feel great,” Jackson said on Tuesday while speaking to reporters.
“I feel good. I’m 100 [percent]. I’m going to be out there Thursday night.”
When Jackson made it clear that he would suit up against the Jets, many assumed that it meant he was back to being 100 percent.
Apparently that is not the case, though.
According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, Jackson may sit during Week 17 if Baltimore locks up the No. 1 seed in the AFC before then.
.@MikeGarafolo reports that if the #Ravens lock up their playoff seeding by Week 17, expect RGIII to start vs. the #Steelers… even if Pittsburgh needs it to make the playoffs. That would be quite a curveball to the playoff race (tho RGIII has impressed when he’s played).

“Mike Garafolo reports that if the Ravens lock up their playoff seeding by Week 17, expect RGIII to start vs. the Steelers… even if Pittsburgh needs it to make the playoffs. That would be quite a curveball to the playoff race,” tweeted out Ian Rapoport.
As it stands, the Ravens are 11-2 and hold a lead over the 10-3 New England Patriots for the AFC crown.
Baltimore’s final three games of the season will come against the Jets, Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers.
If Jackson does sit in Week 17, Robert Griffin III would get the nod to start in his place.
