McKayla Maroney’s wild workout photos caused something of a stir this week.
Over the past few months the former ‘Fierce Five’ squad member has been keeping a relatively low-key presence on social media. Then in late August, for whatever reason, Maroney made her return.
At the time, Maroney pledged to switch up the type of stuff she posted to a different genre. She started with a fairly provocative video.
This week, she switched things up a bit again. In a series of now-viral posts, Maroney shared her wild workout photos.
Obviously Maroney has shown a certain propensity for making headlines in recent months. Between her provocative modeling photos, racy selfies and spicy outfit choices, she has been a mainstay in the news cycle.
In addition, her standard fare general social media posts are always a huge hit as well.

Part of the reason Maroney is so beloved is because she really paved the way for a lot of young female stars to get paid the way they are getting paid today.
These days, Olivia Dunne makes headlines for things like her wild bathroom videos. And her various copycats, like the “Olivia Dunne of Skateboarding,” cause a stir over their provocative photos.
But them making money off being social influencers wouldn’t have been possible if Maroney hadn’t helped popularize the trend more than a decade earlier.

Maroney came off her Olympic run, one that saw her win an individual silver and team gold, as one of the hottest names in women’s sports.
She then parlayed that into a ton of social media influencer success. To this day, she is still immensely popular. That’s why even things like just her general workout photos cause such a stir.
What will Maroney ultimately go viral for next in 2023? Time will tell.
