McKayla Maroney Looks Different After 1-Year Social Media Break
McKayla Maroney is one of the biggest and most notable sports stars of the past 25 years.
Not only did she claim a gold medal in the team gymnastics competition for the U.S. side, but she also won a silver for herself in he individual vault.
Beyond just what she did on the mats, though – Maroney left a legacy for herself as a very brandable star. Because she was such a memorable member of the ‘Fierce Five’ group in 2012, she turned into an immediate social media influencer.
She would go on in subsequent years to set the internet ablaze for everything ranging from her provocative Valentine’s Day photos to her memorable living room selfie to her wild video with Aly Raisman.

Then last year, Maroney suddenly vanished from social media. She posted one thing and then poof. Gone.
This week, Maroney returned and explained her absence. In addition, fans couldn’t help but notice that she looked very different now:
