NCAA Tournament Projection Revealed By ESPN

An NCAA Tournament projection was revealed by ESPN this past week.

College basketball insider Joe Lunardi regularly releases versions of how he predicts the 2020 NCAA Tournament will look. His most recent incarnation had some notable surprises.

With Selection Sunday creeping closer and closer, Lunardi predicts that the brackets will start changing on something of a daily basis.

At the moment, the four teams listed as No. 1 seeds according to the ESPN insider are Kansas, Baylor, Gonzaga and San Diego State.

Beyond that, Lunardi has Florida State taking Louisville’s spot at No. 2 after their victory over Syracuse and Louisville’s consecutive defeats to Georgia Tech and Clemson.

Then Lunardi placed Penn State at No. 3 and Creighton at No. 4 following their recent showings.

Overall, Lunardi envisions the East Region being comprised of San Diego State, Duke, Seton Hall and Auburn.

The Midwest Region would then be made up of Kansas, Maryland, Louisville and Kentucky.

In the South Region, he sees Baylor, Dayton, Penn State and Creighton.

Finally, the West Region is led by Gonzaga (as always), Florida State, West Virginia and Villanova.

Obviously everything is subject to change between now and the official start of March Madness, but clearly we have now officially reached the point where the NCAA Tournament picture is beginning to take shape.
