Tyrese Haliburton Just Sent a Message About His Achilles Recovery That Pacers Fans Needed to Hear
Pacers fans have been holding their breath for 14 months. Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals, then missed the entire 2025-26 season while Indiana tried to figure out life without their All-Star point guard.
Now he’s finally telling everyone what they wanted to hear.
“I can pretty much say I’m back at this point. I feel like I’m back in shape,” Haliburton said in a recent update. That’s the kind of quote that shifts the mood around an entire franchise.

Roughly 398 days after the injury, the Pacers dropped an 8-second video of Haliburton throwing down a between-the-legs dunk in front of a fired-up group of trainers. The reaction on X was immediate and loud.
You don’t get that kind of lift without trusting the tendon completely. That was a warning shot to the rest of the East, and everyone on Basketball Twitter got the message.
He’s Bigger Now, and That Matters
Here’s the twist Pacers fans might not have expected. Haliburton is up 30 pounds since the last time he played competitive basketball, and he’s talking about keeping that weight if his body responds.

Haliburton coming back at full strength, with 30 more pounds and a chip on his shoulder, gives Indiana a real shot to be a top-four team in the East again. The rest of the Eastern Conference should be paying close attention.
