Ty Lue’s Offers Another Troubling Kawhi Leonard Health Update
Kawhi Leonard made a surprise appearance at Team USA training camp for the 2024 Paris Olympics, but he didn’t stay long.
Although he said he was leaving on his own accord, the real reason for his departure emerged shortly thereafter.
Stephen Curry’s reaction to Leonard’s exit was particularly hilarious.
This week Clippers head coach Ty Lue spoke out on Leonard’s readiness for the 2024-25 NBA season.
“I speak to him all the time,” Lue said in an interview with ESPN. “He’ll be ready for [Clippers] training camp. He’s feeling good and I know he’ll be ready for training camp.”
Why is update concerning? Because it follows a similar patter to one fans have grown accustomed to over the last few years.
Leonard is coming into the season less-than-healthy. Allegedly he will be fine when basketball actually starts up, but the reality is that something always goes wrong with him. And in this case, the drama has already started in the preseason.
L.A. invested heavily in Leonard and Paul George a few years ago. The bet didn’t pay off.
Now George is gone.
Will Leonard be able to guide the Clippers to a championship or will he eventually be the next one to get the boot from what was supposed to be a generational super team? Time will tell.
