Steve Kerr got handed an absolutely loaded roster ahead of the 2024 Olympics. In addition to having his Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, Kerr also has the likes of Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Joel Embiid at his disposal.
And that’s to say nothing of young, emerging talents like Anthony Edwards and Jayson Tatum being on the squad.
Despite all that talent – Kerr has struggled to dominate against international competition in the way American teams used to. Moreover, off the court, the team has been rife with drama. The real reason for Kawhi Leonard’s departure from the program emerged earlier in the week.
On Saturday, Kerr’s Team USA inexplicably found themselves trailing South Sudan by 13 points in the first half. It was insane.
Understandably, the calls to fire Kerr have begun:
“Steve Kerr put out a lineup that can compete against South Sudan or be Jamaican”

Kerr’s accolades speak for themselves at the NBA level, but on the international stage, he has been a total disappointment.
Will the powers that be behind the American basketball program opt to fire Kerr ahead of the 2024 Olympics? An answer one way or the other should come over the next few days.
