Steve Kerr called Draymond Green out this week after the Golden State Warriors’ latest embarrassing loss.
Not only did Kerr’s squad fall to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night, but they also did it in the most humiliating fashion imaginable.
As has become all too common, a cheap shot by Green – and his subsequent ejection – was the main story to come out of this one.
Early in the third quarter, while jostling for position against Suns big man Jusuf Nurkic, Green decided to randomly smack him in the face:

After the game, Kerr made it a point to call out his team’s oft-troubled enforcer.

“It was a huge swing,” Kerr said of Green getting booted from the game.
“We kinda felt good about having him at the five and spreading the floor … thought that could really get Steph some space. … So I felt good about having him out there but lost his poise.”
Kerr then emphasized that Green needs to show more maturity in these types of situations.

“Yeah, we need him,” Kerr continued. “We need Draymond. He knows that. We’ve talked to him. He’s gotta find a way to keep his poise and be out there for his teammates.”
This isn’t Green’s first transgression of this season. Earlier this year he literally performed a Brock Lesnar German Suplex on an opponent during the game. Before that he tried choking out Rudy Gobert.

The man needs to get it together.
Golden State literally just gave him $100 million this offseason predicated on his importance to the franchise. What sort of return have the Warriors gotten on their investment? They are currently 10-14 and sit 11th in the Western Conference.
Will Green straighten up and get his act together before he does irreparable harm to the Warriors’ 2023-24 NBA season? Time will tell.
