The Golden State Warriors suffered a second consecutive embarrassing defeat on Friday when they got dismantled by the Milwaukee Bucks 138-99.
After the outing, an exasperated Stephen Curry issued a desperate plea to his teammates: “We need to win. Immediately.”
Curry finished the game with 19 points on 9-of-17 shooting, 6 assists, 4 rebounds and 1 steal. He went a total of 2-of-10 from beyond the arc on the day.
“I don’t know,” he said after the game.
“We just have to focus more on what we’re trying to do. Sometimes when you miss shots, you tend to force and press and not think. Our group’s collective IQ has to get a lot better in those moments where you’re not making shots.”
Earlier this week, on opening night, Golden State got beaten down badly by Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets 125-99.
Through their first two games of the year, the Warriors are shooting 35.9 percent. Curry, specifically, has gone 13-of-38 overall and 4-of-20 from beyond the arc.
As bad as Curry has looked, he hasn’t gotten much help from his teammates.
Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre Jr. have gone a combined 2-of-21 on three-pointers while making 24.1 percent of their total attempts.
“Kelly’s going to be fine. Andrew’s going to be fine,” head coach Steve Kerr said after the game.

“They’re proven players in this league. I’ve got to do a better job of putting them in positions to get comfortable.”
Golden State’s next game will be telling. On Sunday, the team faces off against an awful Chicago Bulls squad that should be relatively easy to beat.
If the Warriors struggle yet again, in any capacity, then that will likely be a sign that Curry, Kerr and all of Golden State’s fans are in for a rough 2020-21 campaign.
