Skip Bayless Mocks Damian Lillard Yet Again
Skip Bayless is taking his war of words with Damian Lillard to the next level.
This past Thursday night, Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers kept their season alive with a thrilling 134-133 victory over a short-handed Brooklyn Nets squad.
Lillard was incredible in the outing, scoring 42 points and dishing out 12 assists.
That wasn’t good enough for Bayless, though.
Shortly after the game, he tweeted out that Lillard was not as good as Kevin Durant and not as clutch as Kyrie Irving.
“Imagine these Nets with KD, Best Player on the Planet, and Kyrie, who’s more clutch than Damian Lillard,” he wrote.
“And with all those other players who opted out of the Bubble. Can you say Eastern Conference champions?”

Bayless didn’t stop there.
“Anybody else notice that in the final 7 minutes and 12 seconds of that game, Damian Lillard scored 3 points on 3 free throws he did not deserve … and no points in the final 3:17? ” he continued.
“Just for the record. No big deal.”

Skip Bayless, Damian Lillard Have Been Trading Shots
In a lot of ways, Bayless’ most recent shot at Lillard is unsurprising. When the Fox Sports host gets someone in his cross-hairs, he keeps going at them and going at them.
And currently, Lillard is in his crosshairs.
Their feud started back on August 10, when Bayless took a dig at the Blazers star over the Los Angeles Clippers not taking him or the concept of “Dame Time” seriously.

Lillard did not take kindly to this, and responded accordingly.

This rankled Bayless and prompted further shots.
When Lillard recorded 61 points against on the Dallas Mavericks and 42 versus the Nets, Bayless found little flaws in his performances and focused on those instead of giving him credit.

Dame Has Bigger Fish To Fry
For now, Lillard has more important matters to worry about that Bayless’ yapping.
On Saturday afternoon, he and Portland will take on the Memphis Grizzlies in a play-in game to qualify for the Western Conference Playoffs.
If the Blazers emerge victorious, they will go on to face the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the postseason. If the Grizzlies win, then a second winner-takes-all outing will occur on Sunday afternoon.
Portland has gone on an incredible run to even get to this point. Most odds makers had Memphis as a lock to enter the playoffs as the No. 8 overall seed back when the NBA season restarted.
But Lillard has never been one for moral victories. The 30-year-old wants to make it to the postseason, upset the Lakers, run through the West, play the eventual Eastern Conference champion, and then win the whole damn thing.
If he ultimately manages to do all that, not only will he cement himself as one of the two or three best players in the league, he will also do the seemingly impossible – shut Bayless up once and for all.
