Kyle Lowry was involved in an odd sequence during Saturday’s showdown between the Toronto Raptors and New Orleans Pelicans.
Early in the fourth quarter, Lowry found himself guarding Eric Bledsoe and somehow lost his footing. Rather than letting Bledsoe get past him unopposed, Lowry chopped at him – causing Bledsoe to fall to the floor pretty hard. It was just the latest in a long line of controversial NBA plays from the past week.

Officials took a look at the play and eventually issued a flagrant 1.
Opinions on whether Lowry deserved to be punished were somewhat mixed.
Am I blind for not seeing anything flagrant? Did the refs think it was a shot to Bledsoe’s…lower area.

Lowry has a huge history of flopping, grabbing, and generally gaming the game. Some people think this is a good thing and helps his team win games— other people have opposite opinions. This play I give the pels a technical FT

Lowry’s going for a swipe at the ball, Bledsoe could’ve been called for a charge with the spin beforehand. No foul.

As of Sunday morning, the NBA has yet to comment on whether any further action will be taken against Lowry for the play.
The Raptors ended up losing Saturday’s game 120-116 and fell to 1-4 on the year.
