A scary moment occurred during Wednesday’s game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Portland Trail Blazers.
While OKC ultimately walked out of the outing with a 128-120 win, what everyone couldn’t stop talking about was a medical incident suffered by team center Bismack Biyombo.
Part of the way through the game, Biyombo mysteriously collapsed on the court:

After the game, inquiries were made regarding what precisely happened there.
“He’s fine. He just fainted, basically,” coach Mark Daigneault said.
“He was in the locker room at halftime laughing and joking.”
Still, though – that didn’t quite explain why Biyombo collapsed in the first place.
Further updates on his condition only seemed to indicate that he was okay moving forward.
“Biyombo has been cleared of any serious health issue after appearing to collapse in front of the team’s bench tonight,” NBA insider Brett Siegal reported. “He will continue to be monitored throughout the night and tomorrow.”
If medical officials were able to clear Biyombo this quickly, less than a full day after his collapse, then dehydration would seem to be the likeliest reason for the episode.
Anything involving his heart or bodily functions wouldn’t have received such a speedy clearance.
This has been a crazy few weeks for the Thunder. Between Josh Giddey getting embroiled in another fiasco involving that one girl and Chet Holmgren’s controversial joke, it has been one issue after another.

Now this Biyombo thing has stolen the headlines.
In many ways, the Thunder have been the NBA’s most exciting team so far this season. But they just keep getting overshadowed by various occurrences.
Will 2024 mark the year Oklahoma City finally gets the credit it deserves as a legitimate hoops powerhouse? Time will tell.
