New Western Conference Team Emerges As Jimmy Butler Suitor
The Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler didn’t agree on a contract extension this summer.
Barring something crazy happening, it seems like a virtual certainty that he will be playing elsewhere come this time next year.
The question is where.
So far one team has been most closely linked to him, and the Los Angeles Lakers’ best offer for him leaked out – but this week a new potential suitor emerged.
On Sunday, NBA insider Marc Stein reported that the Houston Rockets were a team to keep an eye on for Butler.
“The Rockets are also increasingly mentioned by monitoring rivals as a team to watch should Miami ever reach a point that it chooses to explore its trade options with Jimmy Butler, who grew up some 30 miles away from Houston in Tomball, Texas,” Stein wrote.x

Butler alongside some of the Rockets’ young talent would definitely be interesting.
Either way – his time in Miami appears to be coming to a conclusion.
Will the Rockets ultimately be able to add Butler when everything is said and done? Time will tell.
