Zach LaVine and the Chicago Bulls appear destined for a separation.
A 4-9 start to the 2023 NBA sesaon has all but ensured that the Bulls will be sellers instead of buyers ahead of the 2023 NBA Trade Deadline.
At the moment the team’s three biggest stars – LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso – all seem to be up for grabs.
This week, a report surfaced that LaVine has one team he expressly has zero interest in joining. So we know where he doesn’t want to go. But where does he want to go?
The answer to that came on Friday.
“LaVine and his representation hold several preferred landing spots, such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and Philadelphia 76ers,” Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports reported.
“Each team has registered some level of interest in the Bulls guard. LaVine also has an eye on joining the San Antonio Spurs, in order to pair with rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama and reunite with head coach Gregg Popovich.”
LaVine is a very talented player. He is a multiple-time All-Star and an offensive beast when he is playing up his full potential.
That said – he comes with his fair share of negatives, too. Namely his inability to consistently stay fully healthy and his relatively-frequent defensive lapses.
Last season, when the murmurs began about the Bulls possibly being open to trading him, LaVine expressed a desire to join one specific team.

It seems as though in the months since then, his interest in squads around the league has broadened.
Time will tell if that ultimately works out in his favor.
Will one of the four teams LaVine is interested in actually acquire him ahead of the 2023 NBA Trade Deadline? An answer one way or the other will emerge soon enough.
