Jrue Holiday’s Wife Lauren Calls Out Bucks Over Damian Lillard Trade

Jrue Holiday’s wife, Lauren, called out the Milwaukee Bucks over her husband’s role in last week’s Damian Lillard trade.

Although Lillard was obviously the centerpiece of the transaction, Jrue was also a vital piece in making the three-team deal work.

While Jrue ultimately didn’t have to toil away long with the rebuilding Portland Trail Blazers, him getting moved to the Boston Celtics didn’t change the sour taste the whole thing left in Lauren’s mouth.

On Wednesday evening, Lauren took to social media to call out the Bucks over how everything went down.

Lauren’s message immediately went viral.

“Our daughter started 1st grade a month ago. Our son started preschool,” she wrote.

“Our kids go to school with other Bucks children. Their dads walk them in and walk them out together. The other women on the Bucks have been my workout partners, my confidants, and my support system.

“We have had Bible studies, retreats and shared so many laughs and tears. Not to mention the relationships we have built through our church, our community, and our JLH grantees. All of this is personal to us. It’s our life. There’s no business to any of that.”

In light of Lillard abruptly divorcing his wife this week, and the real reason for their separation coming to light, it is becoming increasingly hard to ignore that a lot of real people are impacted by the decisions made by NBA front offices.

Wives. Children. Everyone.

Obviously that won’t change the situation. Like Lauren said, after all – business is business.

But it is worth keeping context in mind when discussing players getting traded.

Will Lauren’s post prompt any sort of reaction from the Bucks over how they handled Jrue in their desperate scramble to acquire Lillard? Time will tell.
