The Los Angeles Lakers’ season came to an unceremonious end this past week.
For the second year in a row, L.A. was bounced from the NBA playoffs by the Denver Nuggets without so much as a half-respectable fight.
Now the onus is on the Lakers’ front office to make changes.
One name that Los Angeles has frequently been linked to in recent months has been Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young.
This week, Brian Windhorst offered his take on the Young-to-L.A. rumors.

“I think one name that you will hear as we get into this is Trae Young from the Atlanta Hawks,” Windhorst said.
“The Hawks may look to break up their backcourt of Dejounte Murray and Trae Young. The Lakers were interested in trading for Dejounte Murray during this last season. Trae is the type of player that I think multiple teams will have interest in if the Hawks decide to make a move.”

The Lakers have also recently been linked to one other prominent superstar who is all but guaranteed to get traded soon.
Will the Lakers ultimately be able to acquire Young this summer? Time will tell.
