Alex Caruso NBA Trade Frontrunner Emerges Amid Bulls Rumors

The Chicago Bulls seem primed to be sellers rather than buyers ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline.

While Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan have received a lot of buzz as potential pieces in prospective deals, the most talked-about asset on the roster at the moment is Alex Caruso.

As a reigning First Team All-Defensive Team member and guy who you could easily plug into any situation, Caruso has a ton of value.

This week, a frontrunner for his services emerged.

As noted by Sports Illustrated, Philly has a lot to offer up for Caruso.

“Armed with expiring contracts and draft picks, the Sixers could put an enticing offer together for the Bulls if they are looking to rebuild. They are also the current betting favorites to land the veteran guard if he ends up getting traded,” the report read.

“Adding Caruso would certainly up the Sixers’ ceiling, but things could get tricky. If an abundance of teams are looking to acquire him, as [NBA insider Marc] Stein mentioned, it might result in the asking price getting absurd. The last thing [Daryl] Morey and the front office want to do is use all the pieces the just got in an overpay.”

It will be interesting to see how things ultimately shake out on this front.

Presently, LaVine has four teams he would like the Bulls to trade him to, one team he won’t go to, and one dark horse for his services.

There has also been a floated scenario where Caruso and LaVine get traded to the same team.

This is a deeply fluid situation.

That said, one way or another, Caruso and LaVine don’t seem long for Chicago.

Them getting dealt is a matter of when, not if.

Where will Caruso be playing by the time the NBA Trade Deadline ultimately comes and goes this season? Time will tell.
