The Philadelphia 76ers and Golden State Warriors are viewed as two of the more active teams around ahead of the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline.
Obviously Joel Embiid’s injury through a spanner in the works, but Philly has shown no sign of wanting to throw in the towel on this season.
Golden State, in the meantime, is circling the drain in the Western Conference right now and desperately needs to make a move ahead of the deadline.
They are currently 20-24 after 44 games and appear to be headed nowhere fast. In recent days they have been connected to a pretty notable three-team trade that could turn their season around, but thus far nothing has materialized.
This week, a report surfaced links both the Sixers and Warriors to an intriguing four-team trade.
As noted by Fadeaway World, there is a win-win-win-win scenario involving the Dallas Mavericks and Portland Trail Blazers that sees Golden State get Deandre Ayton, Tim Hardaway Jr., Robert Covington and Josh Green. Philly, meanwhile would walk away with Chris Paul and Malcolm Brogdon.
As for the other two teams in this transaction, Dallas would get Andrew Wiggins, Gary Payton II and Dario Saric, while the Blazers would get Tobias Harris, Grant Williams, Jonathan Kuminga, a 2025 first rounder from Dallas and a 2028 first-rounder from the Sixers.
Obviously Philly is also one of three teams in the running for one of the more desired sharpshooters in the league.

If that trade occurs, then this whole conversation is moot.
But if it doesn’t, this could be a great way for the Sixers to bolster their roster ahead of the second half of the season.
Will all parties involved work to get this deal done ahead of the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline? Time will tell.
