2 Teams Have Already Prepared Trade Offers To Cavs For Donovan Mitchell

Donovan Mitchell’s time with the Cleveland Cavaliers is coming to an end.

There have been murmurs all season that Mitchell wouldn’t sign a long-term extension with the team because of a desire to move to a bigger market, and that chatter has only grown louder over the last few weeks.

With the Cavs getting bounced from the NBA playoffs this past week, it appears as though all parties involved are preparing for a change.

On Thursday, Cleveland.com’s Chris Fedor reported that Mitchell “grew frustrated with some teammates’ lack of maturity, focus, playoff-level readiness and a willingness to listen” over the course of this past year.

So where do all sides go from here?

According to ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst, two teams have already prepared trade deals for Mitchell.

“I’m trying to walk the line, because I don’t want anybody to freak out in my hometown of Cleveland, but there a number of teams that have their offers ready,” Windhorst said.

“The Lakers, they’re ready,” he continued, before adding that the Brooklyn Nets were the other team that was preparing to make a big move for Mitchell.

One way or another, it appears as though Mitchell’s time in Cleveland is coming to an end.

Just like most figured it eventually would when the Cavaliers traded for him in that blockbuster deal with the Utah Jazz.

Where will Mitchell ultimately be playing come next season? Time will tell.
