Suns’ Devin Booker Reveals His Favorite NBA Player Growing Up

Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker is one of the biggest names in all of basketball. Although he has yet to win that ever-elusive first NBA championship, he has come close. Within two victories of it, to be exact.

It isn’t a stretch to say that between his on-the-court heroics and his off-the-court flexes (i.e. his girl sharing a photo from his bathroom while wearing no clothes) he is a lot of people’s favorite NBA player.

But who was Booker’s favorite NBA player growing up?

This week, the Suns star answered that question during an appearance on JJ Redick’s The Old Man and the Three podcast.

“For me to be a really big fan first, you know I had a tweet from 2011, I said, ‘Kevin Durant’s my favorite player, but LeBron’s the best,’” Booker said.

“I found it when I got drafted, you know everybody started re-tweeting it. But just always being a  fan and then hearing those types of stories about how obsessive he is with his work, and how he gets after it, and how much of a hoops junkie he is, and for all those stories to be living up and him surpassing those. You really find out that he only cares about hoops, it’s a match for me.”

These days, Booker and Durant are working side by side to bring a championship to Phoenix.

Currently the Suns are 38-27 and sit seventh in the Western Conference. That said, a mere 2.5 games separate them from the fourth-place Los Angeles Clippers.

There is definitely still time for a late-season run.

Will 2024 mark the year Booker and Durant bring home a championship banner to hang up in the Suns’ rafters? Time will tell.
