Steve Kerr’s Excuse For Why Rockets Are Giving Warriors So Much Trouble

Steve Kerr's Excuse For Why Rockets Are Giving Warriors So Much Trouble

After Game 3 between the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets, things got tense—and not just because of the 104-93 final score. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr didn’t exactly hold back, hinting at his frustrations over playoff officiating and how the Rockets are allowed to get extra physical with Stephen Curry.

He never called out the referees directly, but you could tell he was bothered by a trend—teams pushing the limits because refs just aren’t going to call every single foul. The playoff energy was obvious, with 38 fouls combined, but honestly, a few moments probably deserved a whistle and didn’t get one.

Maybe the most glaring example? Early in the game, Dillon Brooks sent Curry crashing while he was shooting a three, and somehow, the refs let it go. Kerr sounded off about it after, saying playoff officiating turns into “more an art than a science” when things get heated, and that kind of gray area lets defenses mess with stars like Curry a little too much.

Steve Kerr Expresses Concern Over Fan Behavior Toward Draymond Green

During the heated playoff series between the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors, coach Steve Kerr voiced his disapproval of fan conduct toward Draymond Green.

As the series reached Game 2 in Houston, Rockets fans began directing profanity-laced chants at Green. The atmosphere, honestly, got a little out of hand—at least in Kerr’s eyes.

“It’s not ideal when a crowd is chanting those words at a player,” Kerr stated following the game.

He pointed out that players have families and kids watching, and fans could probably show a bit more restraint. Nobody wants their kids to hear that kind of stuff on TV, right?

Kerr admitted he might be a bit old-school about what’s okay from a crowd. He’s all for wild cheering and even some heckling, but he drew a hard line at vulgar chants aimed at specific players.

He didn’t just stop at the Green situation, either. Kerr mentioned similar chants happening to other players around the league.

“You can say a lot of things, but I find it disturbing when there’s 20,000 fans yelling profanities at a player,” he remarked. To him, that’s just “stepping way over the line.”

The tension between Green and Rockets fans seemed to stem from his physical style of play. That kind of approach can really get under the skin of opposing teams and their supporters.

Green, for his part, seemed pretty unfazed by the chants. He apparently called them “unoriginal” and shrugged them off.

With the Rockets tying the series 1-1 at that point, the emotional temperature on both sides stayed high. Both teams were gearing up for the next round, and you could feel the intensity in the air.
