Russell Westbrook’s Reaction When LeBron Looks At His Stats (Video)
The Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Memphis Grizzlies 127-119 on Sunday evening.
LeBron James did all he could in an attempt to lift his team to victory. He put up 35 points on 14-of-19 shooting, not to mention seven assists and nine rebounds.
But ultimately it wasn’t enough.
One big reason why James’ Herculean effort was unrewarded with a win is because the Lakers’ alleged second-best, currently-active player didn’t show up at all.
Russell Westbrook finished the game with six points on 2-of-12 shooting and a +/- of -22.
Nothing encapsulated the dynamic between these two better this week than this now-viral video of Westbrook being in a panic over James seeing his stat line:

That probably explains why Westbrook was so triggered on Sunday night when he was asked about Morant. Insecurity will do that.
All in all, it will be interesting to see where the Lakers go from here with Westbrook. Clearly the front office wants to move him, as evidenced by the fact that they’ve spoken to two different teams about a possible deal. However, it’s unclear how viable a potential trade is on this front.

If one happens, it likely will not include Westbrook.
For better or worse, LA is stuck with him.
