Philadelphia 76ers Trade Joel Embiid To Miami Heat In Blockbuster NBA Trade Proposal

Philadelphia 76ers Trade Joel Embiid To Miami Heat In Blockbuster NBA Trade Proposal

Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers got off to the worst possible start imaginable to the 2024-25 NBA season.

When Philly acquired Paul George over the summer, many believed that the Sixers could be legitimate NBA title contenders.

Instead – they completely imploded.

Embiid got hurt. George got hurt. The locker room erupted in a fiery blaze of finger-pointing, media leaks and outrage.

It is increasingly becoming clear that “The Process” has failed in Philly.

So where do all parties involved go from here?

According to a recent report, Embiid is now being linked to a trade with the Miami Heat. The deal would look like this:

Philly would receive Bam Adebayo, Nikola Jovic, Duncan Robinson, a 2027 First-Round Pick and a 2031 First-Round Pick; Miami would get Embiid.

“By acquiring Joel Embiid, the Miami Heat would instantly become title favorites, forming a devastating Big Three with Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro,” the report notes.

Why would the Sixers do this?

“Trading Joel Embiid signals a dramatic shift for the 76ers, officially handing the keys of the franchise to Tyrese Maxey. …By adding Bam Adebayo, Philadelphia gains an All-Star big man who offers defensive versatility, playmaking, and durability, making him an excellent complement to Maxey’s dynamic scoring,” the report highlighted.

This could prove to be a win-win for all sides. The Sixers essentially get to rebuild without having to commit to a full-on rebuild.

The Heat, meanwhile, would get a legitimate star to pair with Butler that could lead the squad to the top of the Eastern Conference.

Embiid, similarly, would get a fresh start.

Will this trade actually happen? Time will tell. But should it? Absolutely.
