Kyrie Irving Reveals Who Should Win NBA MVP
Kyrie Irving is one of the most accomplished players in the NBA today. He is a champion, seven-time All-Star and even joined the very prestigious 50–40–90 club in 2021.
Furthermore, if not for some shady tactics by the NBA, he would be widely acknowledged as one of the 75 greatest players in league history.
Irving’s skillset puts him in rarified air, and it also allows him to speak with authority on certain controversial topics.
Case in point: who should win the NBA MVP award this year.
This week, Irving decided to throw his two cents into the mix:
MVP: @DevinBook

Fans reacted immediately:
Isn’t it funny how the people doing media lose their sense of real talent and real understanding of the game when in front of the cameras like @ROSGO21 did today only to see the true ballers call it as it is? https://t.co/XQhDBzwNdi

For people who disagree let me say it for the ones in the back, 30 and 49 points on an away game back to back second game in Denver, highest clutch efficiency in the league, best defensive sg in defensive rating, averaging 30 ppg in a ten game stretch for the 6 time this year

Sorry but dude ain’t even rank 10th in any major stat how does that work

Clearly this is a divisive topic.
Booker’s case for the award speaks for itself: leading scorer on the NBA’s best squad; 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists per game; 41 percent three-point shooting in the clutch; and the fact that he led Phoenix to an 8-3 record sans Chris Paul.
Of course, for some – that’s not enough. Including seemingly Irving’s own teammate, Kevin Durant.
Durant recently had a very different answer for who he perceived to be this year’s MVP. Make of that what you will.

Whether he’s explaining why the Nets are actually better without James Harden or getting brutally honest about Stephen Curry – Irving always keeps it real. This was no exception.
Time will tell who ultimately wins the MVP this year, but clearly Irving thinks the award should go to Booker.
